That is a surprising amount of EDIT: total sugar. 15g per can noted for those who have to watch that carefully.

If you don't already know that a can of soup is full of sodium then that's on you. It is surprising that a can of savory soup has that much sugar in it.

Yes, true. anytime there's a lot of pasta or rice and tomato type stuff in soup, the carbs go up.

Beans too, but beans have a lot of fiber and are more complex carbs.

they add a lot of sugar to the tomato base they use too, probably where the added sugar is coming from. the rest from the lasagna noodles.

If you happen to live near a Publix, Progresso soups are Bogo this week. This is still cheaper than my local Bogo prices of $1.69 and $1.70. (I live where you only have to buy one to get it half price.)

This is one of my favorite canned soups. Very, very filling. Last year I got in on that deal for 2 x 12 (24 cans) for $17 -- I got the max this time (5 cans) because I am pretty sure we will never see a deal like that again.

My fave Progresso soup. Down to 4 cans in the pantry now. Make a parm-riccota topping to dollop on top once in the bowl and it's darn near gourmet.
