When the flask market collapses, these things are going to be sitting in Good Will by the pallet load.

Why would it collapse? Are we going to run out of drinkables?

Picked exact same one (just blue) up yesterday from home goods clearance section for $12. Light scratch marks but otherwise great condition

Because basic cheap common items with low cost of market entry and only a basic level of utility easily duplicated make little profit unless a perceived 'prestiege' feature is artificially created. When that happens, the market inflates and then collapses.

This is how free market capitalism works.

It has always been this way.
