While this may be true, the reality is that this "sale" price is not a bad deal in today's market. Consider that this is a Thunderbolt 4 and not a Gen 2 like most of the drives priced below it. It has sustained transfer speeds of 4000 Mbps which is x4 the gen 2 models. I'm not saying this is a good deal, just that it is a decent price for what it is in today's digital storage market.

yeah, what i'm saying is today's digital storage market is complete bonkers. can you believe that in january of this year i purchased a 4TB WD Black SN850x NVMe for $209, including tax? insane what prices are now for anything memory related. sad.

its horrible! I bought six 18TB spin drives for my NAS in March, I thought they were expensive at $475, now they are $800!

what's funny is, talking to you about this and looking at prices, I actually bought one! It's a decent deal for Thunderbolt 4, which I have been looking for. I think prices are going to keep going up for a while.

Yep, unfortunately we still have another year or so of these high prices before they start coming down around 2028. But even so, we'll probably never see 2024 prices again.
