This is a multi generational level quality vise. These are the type of Tools that virtually no company makes anymore, because why build something so heavy duty and robust that it'll last far beyond the lifespan of the average person buying it? Even in an industrial environment, this will probably last 50+ years. I know the price seems crazy, but this is an Heirloom level item that someone will probably still be using 100yrs from now. But, yeah for the average slickdealer, a $50 harbor freight vise would probably be more than sufficient. So I totally understand the incredulous reactions to the price of this.

I picked up a 3" Wilton bullet from 1968 a year ago. After removing the surface rust and a quick breakdown, lubrication, and reassembly, it's rock solid. I use it for restoring vintage light industrial tools and I couldn't ask anything more from it. I don't know if my son will want it after I die, but I have every confidence that it will be there if he does. Hopefully the current vises are just as good.

Fireball is wayyyyy better than this. Wilton isnt bad but Fireball is leagues above.
