Also, with regard to stick vacs. We've always bought the cheap chinese stick vacs on Amazon up until recently. The last stick vac we bought was a Shark Refurb from Woot. It worked well for awhile, but then the roller head failed, and it is really not user friendly to disassemble and clean or repair.
Finally, I decided to do some research and ended up buying a LEVOIT [amazon.com] stick vac that we are very happy with. Certainly not a SlickDeal, but a quality vac that I'm glad I bought.
