The Wurkkos WK03 is a compact 90 degree EDC flashlight that stands out for its low price, standard 18650 battery support, and magnetic tailcap for hands free work on metal surfaces. The beam is fixed rather than adjustable, and the magnetic mount locks the light perpendicular to whatever it sticks to. Color options are described as neutral white at 5K or cool white at 6K. Caveats include reports of dim output, early failures, and slow transit from the Global Warehouse. A small, inexpensive light if the fixed beam and battery size fit the job.

Common Questions (5)

  • No. The WK03 has a fixed 90° beam, and the light itself is not adjustable. The magnetic end cap only lets you mount it to metal surfaces and aim it by changing the surface angle.

  • Not well. It is likely too heavy to hang on a hat, and its short body makes clip positioning less secure than on longer lights. A lighter 18350 light like the Sofirn SC13 is a better hat-clip option.

  • Yes. It takes regular 18650 cells, so replacements are easy to source. At this price, buying an extra WK03 can even be cheaper than buying a couple of standalone 18650 batteries after shipping.

  • It can be dimmer than expected, and there are reports of units stopping working after a few months or after the warranty period. The included 18650 battery may still be usable in other flashlights even if the WK03 itself fails.

  • It can take around 20 days in transit. One CA buyer saw tracking show the package in the US while it still had not arrived after 20 days from the Asia-based Global Warehouse.

Can the clip be reversed to hang on your hat?
No. And it's probably too heavy to hang on your hat. I do have a smaller Wurkkos flashlight that has a reversible clip that I can hang on my hat -- the discontinued TS10. The trade-off is that its battery is smaller and you have to deal with the complicated Anduril 2 UI.

I carry a "Banral" (also uses 18650) flashlight from a fairly recent 2 for $9.9x deal on amazon. I reversed the clip on it. The back of the clip sticks out about 5/8" past the back of the flashlight. The Banral is almost an inch longer than this Wurkkos (which of course does not help here) but it kind of works, meaning that it's not always secure enough. The light actually fell while I was above a ceramic double sink (stupid on my part), but luckily I managed to catch the flashlight before it landed.
At some point I'll put the body on a lathe and turn a second groove for the clip closer to the front of the light.

I ordered from Wurkkos "Global Warehouse" aka Asia. And while tracking says it's in the US, it's been in-transit for 20-days total at this point. Just a heads up. I live in CA for reference.

I bought this on a slick deal about a year ago. It was never as bright as I expected it would be and eventually it stopped working all together, just outside of the warranty period of 60 or 90 days. The battery is still good and I can use it in other flashlights but the flashlight itself is dead.

Have this, love it. Great little flashlight for $10. Much better than no names. Takes regular 18650 batteries which is sweet.
Any reconnection for regular 18650 batteries that can be bought in singles?

If you want a small flashlight to clip on your hat, stalk the Sofirn SC13. It uses a smaller 18350 battery and is much lighter. There's a version with high CRI emitter and a Fresnel lens, so better color quality and no hotspot. Also has a magnetic tailcap and extremely pocketable.

I like https://www.18650batterystore.com/ and https://illumn.com/ . Pro tip: Buy in pairs so you get a case. Also allows you to use and charge at the same time with an external charger. Plus, if the battery will run out of juice on you, it will always happen when you need to be using it.
