And for toilets that don't have a kaboom, I drill a hole through the center of the bromine tab, put fishing line through it, and drop it down into the innards of the toilet. I tie the fishing line off through the overflow drain in the tank. It doesn't sit in water constantly, it only gets wet when a flush happens, and this seems to make it last much longer, while still being effective at preventing nasty stuff from forming. You seem to need very very little of the actual bromine to make the bowl water inhospitable to things that grow.
Community Reviews
These Vacplus tablets are mainly used to keep toilet bowls cleaner and reduce water stains, and they work well in Kaboom-style setups. The bleach action is strong, with a sharp odor that hits hardest at first, and some people stretch the tabs by cutting them in half or using them every two to four weeks. The main caution is possible wear on rubber seals, gaskets, and flappers when tablets sit in the tank, though bowl-only setups avoid that concern. A practical pick if you want bowl cleaning and can handle the bleach smell.
Common Questions (5)
The tablets have a very strong bleach/chlorine smell, especially at first or when the jar is opened. The odor can fade after sitting, but it is still strong enough that some people avoid them.
They can destroy rubber gaskets, flappers, and O-rings when used in the tank, with some toilets needing parts replaced within months. A safer setup is to keep the tablet out of the tank, such as in a bowl-only dispenser or by dissolving it separately and pouring the solution into the bowl.
Yes, they work with the Kaboom system. The tablet is used in the Kaboom cup so the water goes to the bowl rather than the tank, which helps avoid exposing tank parts to the bleach.
In Kaboom-style setups, they reportedly last about 15 days to a month, and some users stretch them by cutting tablets in half. A few also use one tab every 2 to 4 weeks depending on the bathroom.
No, the 100-pack for $29.99 with coupon is the better value. The 50% coupon on this listing also appears to have been replaced by a 15% discount.

Saying that, I've tried these… they have an overpowering bleach smell. Like really bad. Now I use Lowe's Bromine jacuzzi tablets. They work better for the kaboom.
