I'm so confused by the amount of re-releases of this series. Is there an "ultimate" 4k set of the original trilogy on disc? Or are the other two not worth getting?

The studios play the same game as they do with Jaws. They bundle all the garbage movies but don't include the 1st (and vastly most popular).

Depends on your preference. There is a 3 pack steelbook of the first 3 with these new Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos additions. Might be harder to find now; came out in 2025.

There is also a 7 pack of all the films that has the same specs, where they all have Dolby Vision and either Atmos or DTS X. https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Ju...ay/392153/
Both of these are the most up-to-date transfers and best sound.

If you just want to pick and choose in the franchise, there are these individual releases.
