Gen 1 refurbs are $190, are these really worth $140 more?
Depends on what you are looking for an a headphone. Gen 2 allows you to turn off ANC which you can't on gen 1. Can also adjust the strength of ANC. Gen 2 also allows USB-C audio.
...but if that doesn't matter to you, then NO, the $140 isn't worth it. Can also say the color options on the gloss finish is a fingerprint magnet, whereas the Gen 1 has a more matte finish. Some videos also talk about the logo being much bigger on Gen 2 and that being a slight turn off.
Honestly, I'd wait until Black Friday or Cyber Monday to dive into headphones. The Sony MX6 is also a target in this price range, with a much better EQ, SQ, and debatably better ANC.

The Bose are in a totally different league for comfort however. Comparing them side by side, the Sony's don't look to be in the same tier at all. The Bose have soft, plush padding with deep earcups, while the Sony's are not soft with comically shallow ear cups.

If "comfort" VIA the earcups is your only concern, I hope you do realize that all of that is replaceable with 3rd party options.

how did you get the 10% code to work? It says not valid for this item, assuming it doesn't work for refurbished items.
