Amazon has Fight Club: A Novel (Kindle eBook) by Chuck Palahniuk on sale for $1.99.

Thanks to Deal Hunter phoinix for finding this deal.

Note: Eligible Prime members may apply earned No-Rush Shipping credits to this purchase (check balance).

About this book:
  • Chuck Palahniuk showed himself to be his generation's most visionary satirist in this, his first book. Fight Club's estranged narrator leaves his lackluster job when he comes under the thrall of Tyler Durden, an enigmatic young man who holds secret after-hours boxing matches in the basements of bars. There, two men fight "as long as they have to." This is a gloriously original work that exposes the darkness at the core of our modern world.

The book is worth the read, but it is one of the few books where the movie really is better (author even admitted as much).

A great adjacent work is "The Sailor Who Fell From Grace With The Sea" by Mishima, which has similar themes but placed in post war Japan. Mishima later committed seppuku while invading a military base, as he wanted to go out at his peak and leave an example for other young men.

I like mishima but he's such a drama queen 👑
