What do electricians and electronics repairmen vouch for these days? I've heard Fluke has fallen out of favor in the industry outside of specific instances where it's required. Very few lifetime warranty products are available for purchase, and the ones that are tend to be ridiculously expensive. So Fluke doesn't even want to stand behind their products anymore.

So then what do the real-world, non-shills recommend? (This may be tough since I think Slickdeals is overrun with shills these days)

I use this one in industrial robotics. I also have the Bluetooth adapter to connect it to my cellphone. It actually works really well for what I do. I can leave it hooked up inside a safety guard while powering up the machines and monitor the voltages. You can also see it as a graph, so If you suspect an input from a sensor being an issue, this is fantastic.

The EEVBlog 121GW is my go-to unless I need CAT III/IV over 600 volts (rarely) or calibrated readings.
A former employer got really paranoid about CAT ratings after some careless dipshit used a temu special DMM on a 1600V system and almost lost a hand.
Generally speaking, it's been a bitch to get anything calibrated that isn't a Fluke or Simpson meter because the cal techs don't understand the tests, they just 'do x, record number y.' If there's not a written cal procedure for a specific model, the labs want $1k+ to write one.
