Missed out on this last time it was posted here. Was waiting for it to come back at this price. Going to replace my 1080P Epson laser projector with this.
And for anyone wondering the PK32 is much better than the PK31. It goes beyond the extra 200 lumen. PK32 has an extra LED channel that makes a real picture quality difference and it also has way more flexibility in the throw.
EDIT: Should also mention this thing is a solid gaming projector. It's low latency and can do 240hz @ 1080p. But, yeah, it goes without saying it should be used in a light controlled room. It's plenty bright for that, but otherwise look elsewhere.

How does this compare to Epson 2150 1080p which i purchased refurbished but practically new from Epson direct a few years ago ? Is there going to be a meaningful improvement over it in a dark room?

That's using bulb technology, so it's brighter. Does that matter in a dark room? No.
I've got this thing coming tomorrow. I'm upgrading from a 3LCD, 1080p Epson laser projector. From a display panel POV, it's probably identical to yours. I'm curious to see how a 4K DLP compares to it. I'll post some impressions when I've compared for a bit.
FYI, that Epson of mine is only rated at 700 lumens, but in a dark room, I'm only running at 80 or 85% power (onto a Silver ticket screen with 1.1 gain).

Yeah. That's why I said your old one is brighter. But I have a very similar (display tech wise) Epson laser projector that's only 700 lumens. This one is 1100. If you're in a basement, it should more than bright enough unless you're going really big with the screen.
I'm on the fence here...I'm sure this would be an upgrade over my 1080p but I really like the spec on JMGO laser projectors. Does anyone have one? Also, can someone circle back on the quality of this one when they receive it?

I'll post some impressions Thursday (get it tomorrow). I'm very curious to see how it compares to my 1080p laser Epson.
It's OOS at Amazon right now, but B&H still has it at 499.99. Plus B&H had it for 499.99 a couple months ago. So assuming this isn't a clearance item, it'll hit this price again.

I only spent last night with it, but so far, it's a definite keeper for me. I'm very impressed for 499.99.
It's replacing an Epson EF11 projector I got refurbished for 200 dollars a couple years ago (3LCD with 3 laser sources). And I'm projecting onto a silver ticket screen with 1.1 gain. It's also in a totally light controlled room.
The highlights are this thing is super sharp. I tested a bunch of 4K blu rays and standard Blurays. The projector really brings out which have good 4K transfers and which don't. But I watched a full movie and had no issues. Using the reference color profile, the colors really pop and the skin tones were very natural to me. Both are better than my old Epson.
HDR is more about tone mapping. I have an LG C1 OLED and you get amazing highlights in HDR. You're not getting that on a projector like this. But the tone mapping is still very good.
I will say I do see DLP rainbow effects in certain areas. Like I can kind of notice it scrolling through thumbnails on my Kodi home screen. And I tested out Bladerunner (1982) in 4K (amazing transfer and super sharp), and the opening intro where there was a ton of white text against a black background looked like I was being strobed with a kaleidoscope. But I haven't noticed it while any video was actually playing.
Didn't test any standard video yet.
I did quickly test it hooked up to my PC. Including 1080p @ 240hz. First impressions are good, but it was way too brief to make any definitive statements.
Also, I checked the power draw on it. With the reference picture settings and the light output set to 100% power, it was drawing 92 watts. 90% took it down to 82 watts. 80% to 72 watts.
So at least from where I'm coming from, I'm super happy with it. 499.99 is a great price for this.

Thank you so much! That sounds really promising! Is it bright enough in your light-controlled room?

It's definitely bright enough for my area. I was watching the Packers-Falcons game on Amazon last night and was super impressed with just how crisp and bright it was.
I can get my area completely dark and I'm only doing 100 inches (on a 1.1 gain screen), but it's very good in this scenario.

900 lumens for the non-pro version
Maybe good if you can have an ultra-dark room available.
Might find something better like a 4K laser projector with similar brightness around BF for a little bit more
