Not yet, and hopefully I won't have to (at least for vehicle starting purposes) but ordered one for my wife's car which at times has had trouble starting in the winter.

Bought a similar one from SD and used it on a car that had been sitting for months. Started right up. Can probably jump 3-4 cars on a full charge (assuming all of these are similar)

Edit - mine was 4000A and paid $25.

I had to call roadside assistance to help me jump a car that died in my garage and they used something like this. I just wonder how long the charge lasts, can I leave it in a trunk, etc. Assuming not forever and no to trunk storage in hot places.

I prefer lead acid jump packs with air compressor built in. Gives me the advantage of plugging punctures or topping up. Any time. Also with USB ports so I can charge phone with car off

In my opinion, those are way too big and heavy. These things are about the size of a woman's clutch purse and I have a small portable air inflator that is also battery operated. That's a separate device. Fits so much better in the vehicle. And I can have the two different things in two places at the same time. In addition, these typically last much longer as you can use more of the battery than you can lead acid battery.

This isn't a charger but a jumper pack. These have built-in capacitors already because they have to dump a fair amount of power nearly instantaneously.

These are stored power energy for many months. Real capacitor have no stored energy like a battery, they discharge in 1 day.

This is a combination. Battery for storage with capacitor for high amperage discharge which is exactly what's needed to start a vehicle.
I've done car stereos for many years and have used capacitors for a number of different electrical projects to ensure the instant availability of power discharge.

this one has a fair amount of reent 1 star reviews, there are so many of these to choose from

In general, I wonder if it's safe to leave in a car, in the sun when the temps can get very hot in the south

That's why I would only go with LiFePo4 batteries - they have a much longer lifespan and thermal stability

Got it yesterday. It does jump start my RAV4 a few times.
