Nikon refurbished Z30 back to 9/25 Not the best Nikon refurb event. like in the past, but this one with the Power Zoom is interesting.

A 12-28 PZ (18-42 effective) is strictly for Vlogging.

It's a fine setup and price for someone planning to Vlog.

Apart from that, with a zoom range of 18 to 42 you could literally use your feet quicker than the power zoom could activate.

Incorrect.

You can use that zoom range for video or photo. It's not the longest or widest lens, nor the brightest regarding the aperture -- but it's not "strictly" for anything.

True, the best zoom you have are your own two feet. After that, depending on the situation, use your optics. Sometimes you simply cannot get closer, and any amount of optical zoom is worth it.

It's more of a starter lens -- when you realize what you want to do, get a corresponding lens to get you there.

Remember, there is always something "better".

Absolutely not. In bright sunlight without a viewfinder you won't be able to see what you're shooting. Get a Z50II, they're sometimes $650 refurbed. Or D7500 if your lens is F mount.
