This thing is a damn game-changer. I have a skill in Claude Code and I added every IoT device I have to this with totally custom keys. I have a button for my washer and dryer that overlays the time remaining and a big green check mark when done, for example. I have separate keys for every macro you can think of, for running programs with specific requirements (like "start this video game but run it at 7x speed". The list goes on and the sky is the limit

What's the benefit of this for that purpose over a phone or tablet that displays that info?

I actually own the 6-button variant which I bought from Dell using my reward points so essentially, it was for free aside from taxes. I'm curious what all I could do w/ one of these besides queuing up random sound effects on a podcast stream, lol.

I use mine for work. Launch certain websites, open excel or rdp. Enter my email address which I do 10x a day. Control zoom camera/mic. Open file explorer, create new email, insert date/time. Tons of stuff that makes my day just a little easier.
