At 1080p, generally use Low-to-Medium settings unless noted:
• Stardew Valley, Terraria, Hades, Hollow Knight, Dead Cells, Cuphead, Celeste, Vampire Survivors, Balatro, Slay the Spire, FTL, Undertale, Disco Elysium, Dave the Diver, RimWorld, Factorio, and similar indie/2D titles: typically 1080p High and smooth.
• Portal 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Half-Life 2, BioShock Infinite, Borderlands 2, Skyrim (2011), Fallout: New Vegas, Civilization V, StarCraft II, Diablo III, Torchlight II, and older Call of Duty titles: usually 1080p Low–Medium, around 40–60 FPS or better.
• Minecraft Bedrock: 1080p with sensible render distance should be fine. Java Edition is playable, but use modest render distance and lightweight performance mods such as Sodium; shader packs are generally a poor match.
• The Sims 4: 1080p Low–Medium, with lower settings advisable if you use lots of expansion packs, mods, or large households.
• World of Warcraft: 720p–1080p at Low settings, with crowded raids/cities likely requiring reduced resolution or settings.
• League of Legends, Valorant, Dota 2, Rocket League, and Team Fortress 2: generally good fits. Low settings at 1080p or 900p are sensible starting points. A published 5400U estimate places Dota 2 around 50–60 FPS at 720p Low and CS:GO around 60–70 FPS, though actual results vary significantly with RAM and cooling.
Games that will work with compromises
These are more realistic at 1280×720 or 1600×900, Low settings, with a 30–45 FPS target rather than a locked 60:
• Grand Theft Auto V: 720p Low/Normal is the safe target; 900p Low may be viable.
• Fortnite: use Performance Mode, 720p or 900p, Low settings. It should be playable, but do not expect tournament-grade high-refresh performance.
• Overwatch 2: 720p Low is the realistic baseline; resolution scaling may help.
• Rainbow Six Siege: 720p–900p Low, potentially playable around 40–60 FPS depending on the machine's RAM setup.
• Genshin Impact: 720p Low, targeting about 30 FPS; 900p may work with reduced options.
• The Elder Scrolls Online, Guild Wars 2, and Final Fantasy XIV: workable at 720p Low, but large city/raid scenes will slow down.
• Euro Truck Simulator 2 / American Truck Simulator: 720p–900p Low, with reduced scaling, mirrors, and traffic for smoother performance.
• Older or less-demanding racing games—Burnout Paradise Remastered, Trackmania, DiRT Rally, older Need for Speed titles—should be usable at 720p–1080p Low depending on the particular game.
Games to avoid or stream
I would not buy this PC intending to play these locally except as an experiment at 720p/lowest settings:
• Cyberpunk 2077
• Starfield
• Alan Wake 2
• Black Myth: Wukong
• Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
• The Last of Us Part I
• Hogwarts Legacy
• Dragon's Dogma 2
• Helldivers 2
• Modern Call of Duty / Warzone
• Recent Battlefield releases
• Most new Unreal Engine 5 games
The 8 GB system memory is especially limiting here: Windows, the game, and the integrated GPU all compete for the same RAM. The Vega 6 GPU also has no dedicated VRAM or hardware ray tracing support.
The RAM issue matters most
The listing says only "8 GB DDR4," which is the major unknown.
• One 8 GB stick / single-channel RAM: expect noticeably worse integrated-graphics performance, sometimes enough to turn a barely playable game into an unpleasant one.
• Two 4 GB sticks / dual-channel RAM: materially better, because Vega graphics need memory bandwidth.
• Best upgrade: 16 GB dual-channel—typically 2×8 GB DDR4-3200, provided the particular mini PC has upgradeable RAM and two SODIMM slots.
The 5400U supports two memory channels and DDR4-3200; its integrated GPU uses system memory, so dual-channel RAM is unusually important on this class of machine.
