I have this exact rice cooker that I've been using for the last 5 years or so.
6 cups may sound like a lot, but it is really pretty small: takes up similar counter space as my Keurig coffee machine.
Rice cookers these days can do so many things and can run up hundreds of dollars, but I don't think that's worth it.

I've made multiple different kinds of grain dishes with this one.
It works well with quinoa, lentils, beans, gaba rice, etc.
It can also make the bottom part of the rice slightly charred and toasty like the way you get with Korean stone pot dishes.

It is especially if you meal prep. I eat a bout 200g in a meal. I probably eat a pot of rice in a few days.

Usually selling it for $90-$94. 2-3 years ago, sold for $74-84. The Costco.com selling lastest model for $100.

I echo all of this. We have the same one and use it almost every other day for two people. We absolutely love it- it cooks rice, quinoa, lentils, whatever, all of it perfectly and keeps it warm for hours. So we can turn it on, go out with the dog or to run errands, and then it's ready whenever we come back.

I bought this for $89 back in January. It's been great. Tried to get a rice cooker on the smaller side so I ended up with a 6-cup which is still way too large for a single guy, but it's still not that large and cooks 1/3 cup uncooked rice without issue.

Sorry did you say it cooks pretty well for 1/3 cup?

I usually cook 3/4 cups uncooked for myself and 1.5-2 cups if I am cooking for someone else too.

How long does it take to cook 3 cups (uncooked) rice? My current "dumb" cooker does it in 25 mins, I'll only go with this fuzzy one if it's less than 45 mins. cuz, when I'm hungry, I don't want to wait an hour for the rice to cook, that's all..

I have this same cooker but smaller, 3 cups. I usually cook 2 or 3 cups white rice and it takes probably around 10-15 minutes. I might buy this one for backup.
