Premise: Seven years after a failed climate fix froze the planet, the last of humanity lives on Snowpiercer, a 1,001-car train circling the globe forever. Season 4 moved from TNT to AMC after a two-year gap, got a military-takeover plot, and landed at 45%. The ending is generally considered rushed.
The honest read: it's a soapy, competent basic-cable sci-fi drama with a strong cast and a great hook, not a prestige show. Critics liked the ambition and disliked the writing. Season 2 is the peak, and the back half is a decline most viewers feel.
