The ZenBook A16 stands out as a fast, premium Windows on ARM laptop with a 3K OLED 120 hertz touch display, 48 gigabytes of RAM, and very strong battery life. The Snapdragon X2E94100 feels snappy in everyday use, runs quietly, and can deliver around 10 hours of real work. App compatibility is much better than early ARM fears suggested, but specific programs, some games, and a few utilities still fail or need workarounds. Open box warranty handling and the single M.2 storage slot are the main cautions, though the machine still looks like a capable travel and productivity pick.

If you're going to clone to a larger SSD (I used a Samsung 990 Pro 2TB), I would recommend using Hasleo Backup Suite and do the cloning live in Windows (not from a bootable portable USB drive). Being ARM is a little different than doing it on an Intel Windows laptop. This ASUS has 16 partitions on the SSD. Hasleo is the only one I could get working as it should. Macrium works but marks the wrong partition as the boot so the target SSD doesn't boot. You can fix it with a some commands to mark the correct partition. Search with Google as there is a reddit thread how to fix it.
Bad advise. Instead of cloning: make an ARM USB media with Windows ADK, save original bare drivers from c:\windows\system32\driverstore, boot from USB, install deleting all stupid 12 partitions, if any boot critical driver missing load it with drvload, if see bangs in device manager after - you have a copy of od repository, use that.

I've not looked into a clean install, but I wonder where to get the Windows 11 26H1 ARM ISO image and then you need to make a suitable USB installer that boots on ARM. There is an ARM version of RUFUS, maybe that will do the trick.
You don't need ISO. You format a clean USB drive on any windows machine
Diskpart
Lis dis (find number your stick took)
Sel dis that number
Clean (it will delete everything)
Cre par pri size=32000
Sel par 1
Format fs=fat32 quick
Assign

Second partition can be ntfs all remaining size

Then, ms publishes catalog same windows media tool uses, I can get you direct link to ESD file, windows 26H1, setup files are under index 2 I believe, so you place boot files on your fat32 partition, shift+f10 in windows pe, then find setup.exe you extracted, install fresh.

Feed this to Claude or chat gpt if you have questions, or ask here, I can help.

Is there a reason people aren't using the Asus cloud recovery in the bios?

One thing you need to double-check is if purchases from BestBuy have an international warranty. As it is, even if you have warranty, you have to go through Best Buy to get it repaired -- they will send it to ASUS. Been there, done that with Zenbook S16
Oh wow. That's actually crazy and you're right:
https://www.reddit.com/r/ASUS/com...e_bestbuy/

Those ASUS laptops sold at BestBuy have their own SKUs and ASUS does not handle them directly. It's been known already that this particular A16 has had differences compared to their regular A16, but I did not expect this would affect the warranty, as it does with other ASUSes at BestBuy.

Thanks for the heads up! This is why ASUS has such a bad reputation for customer service. They're basically the exact opposite of Apple — and I am not an Apple fanboy.

Interesting concept. I did the same, creating dual-partition 16GB usb drive. FAT32 partition contains Boot\, bootmgfw.efi, bootmgr.efi, setup.exe, sources\boot.wim. NTFS partition contains the rest of the iso. Win11 25H2 ARM64 ISO is fine. After installation, it will update to 26H1. The 16 partitions gone, in place will be 4 partitions, System, MSR, OS, Recovery. Although it worked, something is missing. The original has 'MyAsus' in partition 16. So, I'm back in trying to find a reliable way to clone the original to larger ssd (without using bcdboot-bad idea). If you or anybody has been successful in creating a working clone of the original, please share (step-by-step preferred).
Note, usb drive created by Rufus ARM version won't boot. Access violation.

Bad advice? It works, and to be honest, your method doesn't seem any easier...just a different way.

That's literally what the CCP expects of Chinese companies (and much more) and they don't try to hide it.
So you avoid all Chinese-made products then or did you single-out Lenovo for some other reason?

this laptop is always listed at an insane price, not sure how they manage to do it but its great
Not this one. It is the AMD version. I don't think anyone want the SD version.

You want fresh image from MS every time, a rule of thumb.

AMD? Are you posting in the right thread? This is a Snapdragon-based laptop.

I've been cloning SSD's forever. I use the latest monthly ISO's from MS (which doesn't really matter as I do updates on the first boot), imaged to a fast USB and it works just fine. No reason to change what already works.

Check who you are replying to. I don't avoid anything, I don't actually care one bit. but that doesn't change the facts of CCP well documented involvement with chinese businesses.
