And you can get those used on eBay if you look for around $40.
The print heads on the phomemo are low quality and will probably burn out after a couple months. More of a smear than a dot matrix.
Also would not feed properly on my 1"x2" labels. It would calibrate them fine but when it came to printing the platen roller would keep spinning and the labels would get stuck.
I'm pretty sure these cheap Chinese printer parts are made in the same factory so this applies to all the cheap brands.
Again I'm pretty picky on labels for my shipping packages. Would this satisfy the average person, maybe.
These are give or take all made by the same company in random chinese factory and re-badged with a random name brand.
I tried a bluetooth one I was hoping to do PC > Bluetooth but it didn't work so here I am with USB only. I am hesitant on installing random Chinese iphone/android app as well and realistically in 5 years time I doubt the apps will be supported anymore. I think the one I bought was like 15 bucks posted on SD here so sales happen often I think if you can wait out. If you are really set on the bluetooth one, I feel it could be cheaper (just search SD history for pricing)
Only thing I can say that can be annoying is if you don't feed it straight, it doesn't print out straight. I print once in awhile so I actually just feed one print at a time,

The Phomemo PM64D is a budget 4 by 6 thermal shipping label printer that works well for basic eBay and Amazon label printing, especially if you want a low-cost starter setup. It can print directly from downloaded labels, and the touchscreen, Bluetooth, and USB options make it flexible for phone or computer workflows. Print quality depends a lot on label stock, and the included labels are described as poor. Caveats include Bluetooth quirks, occasional alignment issues, and reports of weaker durability than Brother or Zebra models. A practical pick for light to moderate shipping needs.
The printer can successfully print 4x6 shipping labels directly from downloaded eBay labels.
The printer can be used with a practical 4x6 print workflow by adjusting print settings and validating the print preview.
The printer can work for long-running eBay label workflows without failing, including about 1500 orders over time.
The printer can be made to print from iPhone or Mac without the Labelife app by using an AirPrint bridge over an always-on Linux box.
Bluetooth printing may be limited to the Labelife app on iPhone or Mac, and the printer may not appear in iOS Share → Print.
Print quality can be worse than older Zebra label printers, with smear-like output and possible low-quality print heads.
Label feeding can jam on 1x2 labels, even when calibration succeeds, with the platen roller continuing to spin.
The touchscreen can feel like a gimmick, and included labels may be low quality enough to reduce print quality.

I put together a free, open-source fix. You plug the printer into an always-on Linux box by USB (a NAS, home server, etc.), and it shows up on your network as a normal AirPrint printer. After that you can print shipping labels straight from email, Safari, PDFs, eBay/Etsy/Pirate Ship pages, whatever, on any iPhone, iPad or Mac in the house, with no app and no Bluetooth pairing.
It uses an open-source driver instead of Phomemo's closed one. I checked its output byte-for-byte against the official driver, and it's identical.
It runs as one Docker container, with step-by-step setup in the README.
It's free, MIT licensed, and has no account or cloud.
What you need: a Linux machine with Docker that stays on, and a USB-A to USB-C cable. A C-to-C cable from a computer's USB-C port didn't work for me; the printer was never detected. If you don't have a home server, this one isn't for you.
I've only tested it on the PM64D. Other Phomemo/Labelife label printers may work, and the repo has a script to check yours against the official driver.
