The Phomemo PM64D is a budget 4 by 6 thermal shipping label printer that works well for basic eBay and Amazon labels, especially if you want a low-cost entry point. It can print directly from downloaded 4 by 6 labels, and the touchscreen, Bluetooth, and USB setup make it flexible for phone or computer use. Print quality depends a lot on the label stock, and the included labels are described as poor. Bluetooth also appears tied to the Labelife app, and the product page flags it as a frequently returned item, so it suits light use more than heavy volume.

  • The printer can print 4x6 shipping labels directly from downloaded eBay labels.

  • The printer can work with a PDF or image workflow by selecting 4x6 and auto-scaling in the print dialog.

  • The printer has reportedly handled large eBay label volumes over many months without failing.

  • The touchscreen model has reportedly been trouble-free after a few months of use.

  • Print quality can be worse than older Zebra thermal printers, with output described as more smear than dot matrix.

  • Bluetooth printing may be limited to the Labelife app on iPhone or Mac, and Macs may not print over Bluetooth.

  • Feeding can be problematic on some label sizes, including labels that calibrate but then jam with the platen roller spinning.

  • The product page may indicate higher return rates by labeling it as a frequently returned item.

touchscreen is more of a gimmick...that said the label quality is a big factor when it comes to print quality. these ship with crappy labels and if the pq sucks try using quality labels.

I have 3 different thermal label printers I had over 20 years of eBay selling but was looking for a Wireless one either WiFi or Bluetooth so I can print from my phone instead of hooking up my laptop or PC with a USB cable.

Anyoneknow if you are able to direct print eBay labels with these budget thermal printers? On Amazon when I ask this question (granted AI generated) it mentions having to save the label as a pdf then import it into the label maker app. I don't need that extra step hassle. TIA
Yes, you. You need to go into your seller preferences and change your defaults. Right now, the default is probably 8 1/2 x 11 paper. Make it 4x6 and you can print directly. No need to save a PDF first.

Yea I dunno I got a ORGSTA generic label printer for like $25 a year ago on a slickdeal and I've pushed around 500 shipping labels thru it. It def already payed for itself.
Is that using the 4Barcode software. It seems I always have to set my 4x6 label size every time I load the label pdf. Unless I am missing something.

Just wondering, do you use Pirate Ship? I heard they're cheaper than Ebay/Paypal shipping.

so you have to print the label to PDF from ebay or amazon then you use their software to cut out the label from the pdf.. it is really easy.. if you want to pay their subscription it will do it automatically for you but i am too cheap for that and the manual is pretty easy
Thanks for the reply. That's a PITA to have to do every time.

Yes I use pirate ship and I also use eBay shipping it depends. If I sell off eBay I always use pirate ship they're about the same price.

If you've got the Phomemo PM64D, you've probably found that Bluetooth printing only works through the Labelife app. The printer never shows up in the iPhone's Share → Print menu, and Macs won't print to it over Bluetooth at all.

I put together a free, open-source fix. You plug the printer into an always-on Linux box by USB (a NAS, home server, etc.), and it shows up on your network as a normal AirPrint printer. After that you can print shipping labels straight from email, Safari, PDFs, eBay/Etsy/Pirate Ship pages, whatever, on any iPhone, iPad or Mac in the house, with no app and no Bluetooth pairing.

It uses an open-source driver instead of Phomemo's closed one. I checked its output byte-for-byte against the official driver, and it's identical.
It runs as one Docker container, with step-by-step setup in the README.
It's free, MIT licensed, and has no account or cloud.

What you need: a Linux machine with Docker that stays on, and a USB-A to USB-C cable. A C-to-C cable from a computer's USB-C port didn't work for me; the printer was never detected. If you don't have a home server, this one isn't for you.

I've only tested it on the PM64D. Other Phomemo/Labelife label printers may work, and the repo has a script to check yours against the official driver.
