The actual reviews would seem to indicate otherwise. Also, if you need cleaner air get an air purifier. Your HVAC IS NOT AN AIR PURIFIER folks!
Also, the way quality filters like filtrete avoid restricting air flow is that although the filter material is finer, there are increasingly more pleats, which means more filter material surface area for air to pass through. Change your filters evey few months or earlier if your air is dirty, you'll be just fine.
