These KOOPER solar motion flood lights are best understood as a cheap, easy-to-install outdoor lighting fix that avoids new wiring and can stay on through the night when they get enough sun. The adjustable solar panel and flexible heads add placement convenience, and the low per light price makes replacement math easy for disposable solar gear. The main concern is durability, with reports of failures after days, weeks, or months, often tied to battery or water intrusion. Sealing the seams with silicone is a common workaround, making them a practical short term option if weatherproofing matters.

  • The lights can be installed without running new electrical wiring, which simplifies outdoor setup.

  • The solar panel can be adjusted all the way back, and the light bodies are flexible for positioning.

  • Silicone sealing the seams can help prevent leaks, and the lights reportedly kept working after three years.

  • Some units reportedly stay on throughout the night in a backyard after purchasing the product twice.

  • The lights reportedly failed within about two to three days, with sporadic operation before stopping entirely.

  • A similar deal purchase reportedly went bad within a couple of weeks, indicating potential early battery failure.

  • A separate purchase reportedly lasted only about six months at most, which limits long-term value.

  • Water intrusion reportedly can cause corrosion, including a bottom light turning brown when mounted vertically.

Bought the solar spotlights that were on frontpage two weeks ago - they last about an hour before cutting out every night.
The spot doesn't get much sun.

Would this be better?
The solar panels look much bigger

This is the letter I was forced to write to now Amazon as the manufacturer will not respond to my emails. AVOID THESE PRODUCTS and THIS MANUFACTURER!

"I purchased these lights on July 31,2026 and upon delivery following the provided instructions I mounted and activated the lights. Mind you I live in Florida and there was more than enough sunlight to charge these lights. They worked for 2-3 days and then worked sporadically now they do not work at all and as I said I live in South Florida so there is ample solar exposure from where they are mounted to be charged if they are actually working.

I have emailed the manufacturer (KOOPER) and have received no response to my questions and request for warranty claim process information.

The Amazon AI Assistant says since Amazon fulfilled to order for these lights that I should contact you regarding a warranty claim or refund for this clearly defective product.

I can hope that you certainly agree that a product purchased in July 2026 and mounted correctly and activated per instructions should still be working. If this is the quality of these products and KOOPER does not respond to complaints then they need to be removed from the Amazon web site so more people dont end up being an unhappy Amazon customer.

I look forward to hearing back from you and a solution to my complaint.
Thank you!"

This was the response from Amazon Customer Service:

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us about your KOOPER Solar Flood Lights purchased on July 31, 2026. I sincerely apologize for the frustration you've experienced with this product failing after only 2-3 days of use, especially given Florida's excellent solar conditions.

I completely understand your disappointment, and you're absolutely right that a product should function properly when installed correctly according to instructions. After reviewing your case, I have processed a full refund as a one-time exception, even though the standard return window expired on September 1st.

Refund Details:
- Amount: Full purchase price credited to your Amazon Gift Card balance
- Timeline: Refund will appear within 48 hours
- Check Balance: https://www.amazon.com/gp/css/gc/balance/
- You may keep, donate, or dispose of the lights as convenient - no return required

Your feedback about KOOPER's lack of response to warranty claims is valuable and concerning. I want to assure you that:
- Your experience will be shared with our vendor management team for review
- We continuously monitor product performance and customer satisfaction
- Seller responsiveness is a key factor in our marketplace standards

While the return window had expired, your situation clearly demonstrates a product defect rather than normal wear. A solar light system should absolutely function properly in South Florida's abundant sunshine when installed per instructions.

If you need replacement outdoor lighting, I'd be happy to help you find highly-rated alternatives with strong customer reviews and responsive manufacturers. Simply reply to this email, and I'll provide personalized recommendations.

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention and for giving us the opportunity to make this right. Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we appreciate your patience as we resolved this issue.

If you need any assistance in the future, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Best regards,
Chandrika

I bought similar ones, solar, philips I think. It;'s been a year and in florida weather, they are still on good. Good movement detection. Only thing is the one I put on side that is vertical, water got in and stayed in the bottom light and turned it brown, but other than that they are still working.

Do you seal the solar part or light part?
I silicone sealed all the seams that could leak into any of these type of cheap lights and still working after 3 yrs
