Volaris has started offering direct flights from IAD to GDL, and round-trip fares are under $200 for many dates in October and November.
Posting a screenshot of the October 23–27 flight as an example. If you're not a Mexican citizen or resident, though, an additional $57 non-resident tax is added to the fare.
