I wouldn't buy this if it were a dollar, because if a company can't be trusted to title their listing correctly, then I can't trust them to keep formaldehyde out of supposedly food-safe utensils (I'm not saying they do this, just that I can't trust them either way)..

š that's a new one.
What's ironic is that, this is actually the natural side grain.

A good end grain board with proper hardwood is gonna run you ~$200+ but if you want a budget option you can often find acacia side grain boards for under $30 at TJ Maxx.
For example, this 16"x11"x1.4" board for $30 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F5PV7P2G
Or this 14"x10"x1.5" one that's currently $43 but could be had for around $26 sometimes https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0G3BK1ZCC
They are both decent, but I find the smaller one much more usable. End grain is prone to warping and splitting, so I agree with the 1.5" minimum thickness. The 1.4" worked out fine, but I haven't had much luck under 1".
Proper sealing goes a long way. You could use mineral oil or board butter, but that's too much trouble for me. I just apply (pure) tung oil to all my boards. It takes a bit more time and effort, but lasts much longer.

Bamboo and end grain are incompatible.
