Ha! It's fine for a beginner...or a kid who probably won't stick with it. You get what you pay for, and this is about as good as you'll get for sub-$100.

Beginners shouldn't have instruments that are hard to play and sound bad. Stops them for wanting to play. An instrument is always going to cost more than a video game

Really great deals on entry level instruments on CL and FBM, especially acoustics, especially in smaller sizes meant for young people. I got a squire mini for like $40 recently. It's hard to get into learning an instrument so they end up being gifted and just sitting.

As a beginner, you actually need a decent, playable, well set up guitar or you won't get too far. Better getting a used Yamaha or Ibanez for a bit more.

I'd only get this Pyle if you need a guitar hanging on the wall for decor.

A kid (or an adult for that matter) will give up if it's too difficult to fret the thing and lose tuning every time you strum it. Better to get something used and set it up properly. Kinda hard to find a local luthier these days, but not brain surgery if you are handy and patient.

Nothing says "quit" more than making it more difficult than a decent setup is.
