Bose QuietComfort SC headphones stand out for comfort, solid noise canceling, and a price that has been showing up in Costco warehouses at a steep discount. The fit is praised for long listening sessions, travel, and even sleeping on hotel stays, and the white and black pairs have been moving fast in several locations. The main caveats are that this is the first generation, with some reports of weaker sound tuning, ear cushions that wear out, and occasional fit or crackling issues. A practical pick if comfort matters more than chasing the newest model.
The headphones can feel comfortable enough for overnight hotel sleep use.
The ANC performance may compensate for glasses-related earpad seal gaps better on the 2nd generation.
Costco price adjustments may allow a $20 back claim after purchase.
Some units marked renewed reportedly looked brand new and included all components at pickup.
Ear cushions can disintegrate over time and may require replacement to keep comfort.
The left ear cushion can pop after about a year of use, which may require a Costco replacement return.
Sound leakage can be significant, with nearby people reportedly hearing audio even at moderate volume.
Multipoint connectivity can cut in and out and crackle during playback controls on some units.

The fit is worse, cuts in and out with multipoint, and everytime I pause/play/seek, it crackles.
It's not my piece because I recently returned a cert refurbished piece for the same reasons thinking it was defective.

2nd gen are also much better if you wear glasses like me - they compensate ANC when there are gaps in the earpad seal (finally!)
