I got the only copy at my Target on clearance for $30. Also got DQ 1&2 S2 for the same price, also because it was the only copy. Check your clearance!

game key card for $45? No thanks. I'd either get it dirt cheap digitally or it has to be a real physical copy for this kind of money

Please don't get anti key cards people all riled up. It's not ownership if it can be taken away. I shouldn't be forced to download anything. What if in 20 years I want to play the game and the servers are gone? Nintendo sucks. Am I missing anything? IMO it's a good compromise. Key cards are expensive and publishers don't want to spend the extra money. You can lend them out and resell them. I get that they take up a lot of space and the S2 doesn't have much space and extra memory is expensive nowadays.
At least it's not a code in box. Those are terrible imo.

Yeah and, I haven't played a game that did not require additional download on top of the physical media in years

A keycard means the game isn't on the cart. The cart is like a physical license, giving you the right to download the game from the nintendo store and play it. If you don't have internet, and you don't have the game pre-loaded on your switch, then it's just a piece of plastic.

Code in box is even worse. The rights aren't transferable once bound to an account.

Majority of games do not require a day one patch to be playable. If all you play is garabge like CoD and sports games then I can understand the misconception.

Every game I played on switch 1 required a download to play.

Gosh forbid people share their opinions about the value and ethics of a product or service being discussed. Negative feedback is just as valuable as positive if not greater so. No one is going on a diatribe in regard to your opinion, so why then try to silence theirs?
