Pulled the trigger on this yesterday. I also considered the 5080 version for $1800 but decided to go with this one, despite wanting 5080 bragging rights, because it seems like a waste to put a 5080 on low power and 5070ti should be enough.

You made the right decision.

The 5080 model shouldn't exist if they're shipping a 5070Ti.

Depending on the memory used and how well the system cools, you can easily add a whole Ghz or more with an overclock.

If this had an OLED screen, I definitely would've pulled the trigger, regardless of Gigabyte's known build quality issues. Finally a sane price point.

The all-plastic body is the main thing keeping me away... that and the screen...

It's a Gigabyte laptop... if you're brave enough to overclock it, it'll be dead in 6 months.

Not LPDDR5. This should be upgradable.

Says the guy who genuinely thinks you can get a WHOLE GHZ OC on a modern GPU, much less one in a stock-cooled laptop?? I needed the laughs, bud, thanks 🤣🤣🤣

Also, it's well known that Gigabyte laptops are notoriously poor quality. I'd only buy one if I thought I could flip it to some poor sap on FBM or CL, or for a kid who would wreck it in a year regardless. Stick with Lenovo.
