Waking the Switch 2 from Sleep Mode: You cannot turn on or wake the Switch 2 using the HOME button on the original Pro Controller. You will need to wake the console via a Switch 2 controller or manually press the power button on the console itself.
Dedicated GameChat "C" Button: The original controller lacks the new C button introduced on Switch 2 peripherals, which is used for quick access to system voice/video chat settings.
Programmable Rear Buttons: The original model does not have the GL/GR back paddles/buttons found on the Switch 2 Pro Controller for remapping actions like jump or sprint.
On-Controller Audio Jack: The original Pro Controller does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom edge.
HD Rumble 2: You get original HD Rumble instead of the upgraded, more nuanced haptic feedback system of the Switch 2.

I have to walk downstairs to turn on my switch 2 since I only have 3 switch one pros. Absurd and pisses me off.

Switch 2 Pro controller sticks are much smoother and shouldn't develop drift as quickly since they do not rub against the stick gate.

Nintendo is a business, so of course they want to make more money, but I'd argue if they were being "anti-consumer" they wouldn't even allow Switch 1 controllers to work on Switch 2. Instead, literally all Switch 1 official controllers work on Switch 2, you just have to find a charging grip (I use a $5 offbrand one) and use the sync buttons for the Joycon 1 and NES controller since they can't physically connect to the console.
A way to kind of circumvent this, is just use the included Joycon 2's home button to trigger on the console and once it's awake you can just use the Pro Controller 1.
