They seem to actually be 9 volts, while the older rechargeable were 7.2V making them a bad option for smoke alarms.
For smoke alarm Lithium rechargeable or lithium disposable with 10 year live) may be prefered.

IMO, don't bother. The capacity is low (200mAh). The are made of of.....tiny.....little NiMh cells stacked in series. When they get that small they self discharge voltage/capacity pretty rapidly. They seem to always be dead/disappointing. They are 'ok' in a device that you charge and use on a routine basis.
Smoke alarm....not a chance.
