These protein bars are mainly praised for a Barebells-like taste and texture, with a satisfying, candy-like bite and about 19 to 20 grams of protein in roughly 200 calories. The deal can land well under a dollar per bar with coupons or Subscribe and Save, and the variety pack is seen as a decent pantry treat. The main drawbacks are the maltitol and sugar alcohol aftertaste, occasional blandness, and some packaging or freshness issues on arrival. A solid value play if the ingredient tradeoffs do not bother you.

Good point. Maltitol has wreaked havoc on my GI only when I have in excess -- ie a million Stover's sugar-free chocolates. Moderation is always fine.YMMV.
I tried sugar free licorice once and felt like I was prepping for a colonscopy. Turned out the licorice was sweetened with malitol.

Why do I always go look at the ingredients to see if they use sugar alcohols? They always do.
You probably go look at the ingredients to see if they use sugar alcohols because you're curious if the use sugar alcohols.

PALM oil, the worst kind of saturated fat. Keep your conspiracies out of here, this type of saturated fat will raise your LDL and put you at greater risk of heart disease. If you are eating protein bars, you care about your health. Avoid these bars except as a very rare treat.
Why do you think one form of saturated fat is worse than a other? I agree that palm oil is terrible for a lot of reasons, but claiming it's the "worse kind of saturated fat" sounds like some facebook science.

I met a woman who was made in Croatia. She was nice. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Game of thrones was largely made in Croatia and that was excellent until the end... just like some Maltitol-based products lol

Woot had a deal on some IQ almond bars. I got an 18-pack from Costco. I've had two so far. I'm one of the furthest from any kind of nutritionist, but I looked at price and carbs, and these seemed decent for everything I looked for.

IQBAR Almond Butter Chip Bars 24-Pack https://www.woot.com/offers/iqbar...-24-pack-0
"I'm eating one of these for the first time now. It's a very low sugar content, which I like since I'm diabetic. I like the texture. It's like cookie dough and it has a little crunch to it like you get a couple rice crispies in each bite. It has a light cinnamon taste. Kind of an almond paste texture mixed into it.

"I have the Built Puff bars, and those are the same carbs, but they feel like candy more than this, and I worry about them melting and some of the coating coming off. But I like the texture of these. So, personally, I like them well enough. Take this review as you will.

"Oh, and Costco has a mixed pack with 18 bars. 6 of each, peanut butter chip, chocolate sea salt and this one. It's $20 for them. This is the first one I've tried, because I wanted to know what I think after seeing what people thought of them here."

And here's the Costco deal. Says OOS in my area, but they had plenty a couple days ago. $19.79 in the "warehouse".

The expiration date is December 2026. I received a full refund and was able to keep the product. This is the 2nd time this month that Amazon sent me protein bars with a nearing expiration date.
You can't eat 12 bars before the end of the year? Date is probably one reason why it's so marked down.

Def has a weird taste, maybe that's the malitol.

I got a box of 3 flavors a few days ago. They are good! Great texture and all I really care about is getting 20g protein in 200 calories or less

Maltitol wreaks my digestive system. It must be pretty cheap cause a lot of protein bars use it.

It's called science. There is a pill for that.
