The Logitech G305 Lightspeed is a lightweight wireless gaming mouse that feels dependable for everyday work and long sessions, with battery life that can stretch for years between swaps. The shape and wireless performance get strong praise, and some units have stayed trouble free for years. The main concern is durability, since double clicking and ghost scrolling have shown up after months or about a year, and the click sound is loud. The lack of smooth scrolling also stands out. A solid compact mouse if you are comfortable with the reliability risk, especially on a used copy.

  • The mouse can keep working for years with only a battery replacement.

  • The mouse can feel reliable for work use across multiple computers over time.

  • The mouse can avoid double-clicking for extended periods when used for work.

  • The mouse can arrive in usable condition when Amazon used or open-box items are marked good as new.

  • The mouse can develop ghost scrolling or double-clicking within a few months of use.

  • Fixing double-clicking can require disassembling the mouse repeatedly.

  • The mouse can have loud clicking that makes it unsuitable for normal daily use.

  • The mouse can feel cheap and lack a smooth-scroll option, which can be a dealbreaker.

Get a good 3-6 months out of these before the dreaded ghost scroll or double clicking issue. Great mouse otherwise. Pain in rear to have to disassemble every few months to fix.

Cheap no name mice dont even have these issues.

I'm currently using this mouse and I've had no issues out of it. Love this mouse. Purchased mine in July 2025.

I got this last time. The loud clicking made me put this in the 'emergency mouse' part of my closet.

GOAT. I've used these exclusively on two computers for work for many years.

What are you doing? I usually use my mice for 1-2 years before I just drop them. The only ones that have stopped working are the smaller, cheaper models, but I still think it's a solid purchase. That being said, why buy a used mouse? Someone else has held it for way too long.

My g303 shroud edition got the double click after a year as well and am now getting a replacement. Logitech mice made from 2020-2025 suck and will get double clicking, they were forced to swap to a new optical switch called lightforce hybrid switches. Would not recommend getting one of these unless you get a full 2 year warranty to exchange when it inevitably starts double clicking.

I bought this as a backup for my aging G604. Not even in the same ballpark. Feels really cheap. The biggest dealbreaker (and the reason I'm returning it) is there's no smooth scroll option. I figured that would be a given, but nope.

Regular use... occasional gaming. I think this is just a design flaw. Not like I'm throwing it against the wall 😅.

90% of the used and open box items I have bought from Amazon have been good as new, and returning the other 10% has not been a problem so far.

Bought a new one 3 years ago and it has been extremely reliable. No double clicking. However, I only use it for work. But I do slam it on my desk and it still holds up well
