Ori and the Will of the Wisps is a gorgeous Metroidvania platformer that shines especially on OLED and HDR displays, where it looks stunning and can be the most beautiful game on an OLED Steam Deck. It also brings better controls, more mechanics, extra systems, and a longer, more polished experience than Blind Forest. The main caveat is that Blind Forest still gets the nod for some, and the sequel's boss combat and Switch graphics drew criticism. At $2.99, it stands out as a strong value if you want the prettier, fuller sequel.
Common Questions (4)
Yes. The game is described as stunning in HDR on OLED and exceptionally beautiful on an OLED Steam Deck, making this price a no-brainer for high-end displays.
Ori: The Collection is $7.18 and includes both Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition plus Ori and the Will of the Wisps. It is the better pick if you want both games, while the standalone deal is the cheaper way to get only the sequel.
On the original Switch, the game had graphical issues and some parallax textures were degraded to keep frame rates higher. On PC, a faster system should handle it, though low settings may still be needed for the sequel on weaker hardware.
It reportedly almost never goes on sale, so this $2.99 price is unusually good. That makes it reasonable to buy now even if you do not plan to play immediately.
