Only useful if you have spare DDR4 rams to pair with this and ddr4 compatible bulky motherboard to compensate heat.

At this budget line, you are probably better off just going with DDR5 (even with markup) and get newer platform like 270k plus or 7800X3D bundle deals that occasionally show up here.

270K Plus runs circles around this SKU, and low as $200. Have fun paying an extra $214 for less performance just to use DDR4. Take a trip, 270K Plus bundle is $600 at MC.

what heat? this isnt the K version, its the 65w non k version so it runs significantly cooler, even at max 220w. unless you make some crazy OC in bios, this wont ever get hot like the K skus. but you also get less performance with that lower power which makes this thing crazy over-priced.

This is only good for avid OC. Otherwise it's killer heat. 20% more at max and much more at idle/ low demand tasks.

You do need decent motherboard with good vrm setup to make this work in stress environment without being thermal throttled.

I would suggest at minimum go for motherboard with 12+1 phase setup for stability at stock. (Like [$140]MSI PRO B760-P WiFi DDR4 ProSeries Motherboard assuming you are pairing with ddr4 rams.)
If you can, go for motherboard with 16 phase setup for production purpose.
