Self heating lmao. What a wild term for what it does. Can I call my Mylar blanket self heating too?

It's got actual insulation in this, and the reviews seem to be good.

I'm sure it has fine insulation, but self heating is such a wild marketing term for this to sell to people who don't understand physics. If you had this outside, it'd never be warmer than the environment because it's not generating any heat. It'd be like marketing a kids bicycle as self-peddling because it does so when going down a hill.

Seems to be the safer alternative from the ones you have to actually plug into the wall.

Thanks for the warning. Just to be fair though, this is a bit larger than the $10 one but for those who don't need something as big, the $10 may be the better deal.

What's with all you people getting so triggered about the term, self heating?

Do you think anyone looks at this and think it's powers by electricity? Where's the cord?

And this absolutely could save an animal. If this was laying on the snow, cold ground, etc and a pet could lay on this and be substantially warmer? Why? Laying on a reflective heat barrier vs a cold surface could help your pet from becoming hypothermic because it's body heat is reflected vs being lost to the cold.

The thumbs up on the post suggest pet owners know this and conclude it's a good deal.

My house has insulation therefore it is self heating. I'm surprised realtors haven't come up with this marketing term yet. 😂

No, it's not REALLY making heat or self heating... But certain materials can absolutely be cooler or warmer than others quicker and therefore keep other things cooler or warmer. Check out bedsheets that claim to cool, the technology is real

This is definitely "pet-activated" heat; it can't be self-activated if it's 100% passive-responsive.

A sleeping pad that uses the pets own body heat to stay warm. A clever idea. And the reviews are very positive given reviews date back to at least 2023! There are many 4.8 star products with reviews only dating back a few months (and often early influencer employees and/or Vine reviewers), but maintaining 4.5 stars after 3 years is extremely rare! Must be fairly durable to keep most customers and pets happy! And 100% positive review seller is also reassuring. Thanks for posting!
