This EGO POWER plus 56 volt 18 inch chainsaw bundle stands out as a strong value because the 6 amp hour battery alone is a big part of the appeal and works across other EGO tools. The 18 inch CS1815 is described as the updated version with better chain tensioning, more power, and higher chain speed than the 16 inch saw, while still being lighter than the 20 inch model. It handles hardwood and larger logs well, but runtime drops fast on hard wood and the extra weight makes it less nimble on smaller cuts. A practical pick if the battery ecosystem matters and the bigger bar fits the work.
Common Questions (5)
The 18" CS1815 is described as having higher chain speed and more power than the 16" saw, and it is said to narrow the performance gap with EGO's 20" model. The tradeoff is more weight, which makes it harder to handle on smaller logs.
Runtime can be very short in hard wood, with reports of about 10 minutes before the battery gives out. Softer wood lasts longer, and the saw is described as fine for small trees and limbing, but larger cuts drain batteries quickly.
It can still be worthwhile because the bundle price is described as cheaper than buying the battery alone, and the battery adds value for other EGO tools. One buyer also planned to keep the battery and sell an older EGO saw.
Yes. The 56V 6Ah battery is compatible with other EGO POWER+ tools, so it can be shared across an existing EGO battery ecosystem.
The CS1815 is described as the updated version with an improved chain tensioner. That makes it the preferred model over the older version in this thread.

The cs1815 has definitely narrowed the performance gap with their 20" while being 3lb lighter.
