The onn 4K Pro is a fast Google TV streamer that stands out for sideloading, a cleaner launcher option, and solid everyday streaming performance. It feels snappy, supports phone apps as tiles, and the 32GB storage leaves room for extras. The main tradeoffs are its 100 Mbps Ethernet port, USB 2.0, and limited headroom for very high bitrate or TrueHD Atmos playback. At around $50 to $60, it lands as a strong value for most streaming setups.

  • The SAVE3X promo code can work for store pickup and can reduce the final checkout total.

  • The device supports sideloading and can show sideloaded phone apps as launcher tiles.

  • The device can feel fast and responsive for streaming, especially after installing a cleaner launcher.

  • The Ethernet limitation can be worked around using USB Ethernet adapters that reach hundreds of Mbps.

  • The SAVE3X promo code can fail depending on fulfillment option or eligibility, even when stock shows available.

  • The Ethernet port is limited to about 100 Mbps, which can make wired networking less useful for some setups.

  • Some playback scenarios can show dropped frames or stuttering, especially with high-bitrate content.

  • The device may not passthrough Dolby Atmos TrueHD due to processor or SoC limitations.

Got the Plus for $27 at launch last year and it's a great device. Always felt like I could use another and FAST30 works for me to get it down to $50, so will enjoy the upgrade. With the price at $50-60 compared to the $150 Google competitor, the price is more likely to go up instead of down.

Been trying to find it online in stock for over 3 months, for either online or local in SF Bay Area. No luck even once. No luck in the 2 or 3 stores I've been in during that time too. F Walmart and F Onn for the inventory BS with this product.

The real trick with this device is getting a USB C OTG adapter with extra output to add a flash drive. If you keep your apps on it, the device won't eventually bog down from being out of memory. Then again, this unit has 32GB, which is massive for most needs.

The main difference is this has a faster processor but less RAM. This one has faster wifi but slower ethernet. The Google TV Streamer gets first party updates. IMO, it's a toss-up which is "better" at the same price, take a look at your use case scenario (like, will you use wifi or ethernet?) to decide.
All you need to stream 4K video is about 25mbps. If multiple devices will be streaming, then 50mbps. The 4K pro can easily exceed that speed on ethernet (port is rated for about 100mbps I believe).

Even if WiFi offers faster speeds, it will sometimes be bursty and not a consistent data rate. Ethernet (wired), even if slower, will generally provide better performance than WiFi.

In for one to reduce LG from spying on me in the bedroom. The gray was back in stock for delivery. I have a Google model. Be interesting to see how they compare.
