Sound is pretty irrelevant if you're filling it with powder and liquid. Yeah it's gonna clang a bit, but nothing ridiculous or disruptive. Stainless steel is so easy to clean and won't ever retain any smells like plastic ones. I have the same one for 6+ years now and it looks pretty close to the day I bought it. You can disassemble it and clean out every bit of it.
