The Vitamix E320 is a powerful, durable workhorse blender best suited for big batches, soups, smoothies, and other heavy blending jobs. It is praised for strong torque, reliable performance, and a simple design with less to go wrong, and the 64 ounce pitcher adds capacity for family use. The wider jar needs about 2 to 3 cups to blend properly, and it lacks preset programs for smoothies or soup. It is also loud, and the size can be too much for small tasks, making it a solid fit when power matters more than convenience.
Common Questions (5)
No preset smoothie or soup programs are included. It is a manual blender, so it works best if you already know how to control blending time and speed.
The E320's wider jar needs about 2 to 3 cups of ingredients to blend properly, so it is less convenient for very small batches. It is better suited to larger smoothies, soups, and other bigger-volume jobs.
It comes with a 64 oz pitcher. That larger container is one reason it is aimed at bigger batches rather than small single-serving blends.
It is loud because the motor is strong. That tradeoff comes with the high torque and power that make it a workhorse blender.
No, it will not replace a food processor. It can handle soups, smoothies, and even rice powder with the dry-ingredients attachment, but a separate food processor is still useful for tasks like small hard-cheese grinding.

That said, just like any other blender, it's not meant to do everything. It won't replace a food processor (though they have a dedicated food processor attachment) and there'll be times when it's just too big for what you want. So in our kitchen, we have a Vitamix blender, an old school Kitchenaid food processor, and a Nutribullet for small things like turning small blocks of hard cheese into powder.
So if you have realistic expectations and a decent understanding of how to cook, you'll definitely appreciate these.
Warranties (i.e. motor quality ) vary by line.
