I would skip these remasters. They are over-compressed with the loudness cranked. I would try to find an older pressing of the disc. I think Tom Scholtz was involved in the remastering which I find smooching. I thought he had a better ear for high quality sound.

I have about 300 CD's and play them often. Streaming has its advantages, but a physical disc will always sound better.

I buy them. After I ripped my 2,547-cd collection to .flac on my home Linux server I noticed that some of my CDs were not exceptionally clean as the files were damaged or the CD was on some tracks. Most of my old CDs you cannot buy anymore so the best place I have found to get replacement CDs is at estate sales and yard sales for as little as twenty-five cents to ten cents but on average they are fifty cents to a dollar.

I play CDs every day and am building an offline library for when we lose all of our streaming services.
