I think this is the same deal as the E5 11 Pro from a couple weeks ago or so. That one was 187, for me 198 after taxes. Same specs with the 5400U.

Keep in mind this uses a cheap SATA drive. The PC is going to run very slow out of the box. And you may get system crashes. You'll need to spend around 50-60 dollars to get a used 256/512GB NVME SSD to get stable use out of Windows.

It would also be worth it to spend 20-30 dollars to get another 8GB DDR4 RAM stick to bring this upto 16GB dual channel. It should work way smoother.

Drives up the total price, but you can also make these mods down the line or if you have old parts from something before you can swap in here.

Can I run Proxmox on slow sata drive and have pcie gen3 nvme 2TB drive for VMs? Would slow sata drive affect vms on nvme drive? I have DDR4 3200 SODIMM 32GB RAM. I just need to run TruNAS and pfsense. Any thoughts?

I had 64gb ddr from an old laptop with 2tb nvme and got Linux installed on this via claude, it works perfectly host's my heavy files and claude takes care of everything via ssh. This is faster than all the nases I have in my network

Does Windows really run "very slow" and crash a lot on SATA SSDs nowadays? I would think 8GB vs 16GB ram would be a bigger concern than SATA vs NVME.

Some of the reviews mention it. These probably use bottom of the barrel tier SATA SSD's. Maybe a decent quality SATA drive will do.
