My instinct is off on this one: $7.99 is the lowest it has ever been, and today is the first day at that price.

Price history (Apple TV, since the Aug 2025 digital release):

• 08/22/25: $24.99
• 09/19/25: $19.99
• 02/20/26: $14.99
• 09/29/26: $7.99 (today, all-time low)

It has never gone below $14.99 before, and the drop to $7.99 is a fresh listing today. For a 4K blockbuster that's only 13 months old, that's a real floor, not a routine sale. IMDb 7.6, RT 82%, Kosinski directing Brad Pitt, same team as Top Gun: Maverick.

it's an Apple Original (Warner Bros handled theatrical), so no Movies Anywhere sync.

I bought the physical 4k disc for 11.99 when it was last on sale. I own it, it's literally mine and I can touch it.

Streaming means renting, you never truly own it.

I also have the 4k disc (and the digital that came with it). But it also doesn't come with the Blu-ray which I expect will be problematic down the road. 4k discs and players are dramatically less reliable than the previous optical disc technologies and have been produced in far lower numbers.
