This compact jump starter stands out for emergency starts at a very low price, with force start mode for totally dead batteries, a light build, and enough real-world use to jump SUVs, sedans, and even a lawn tractor. The 8000 mAh pack and LCD charge readout look consistent, and the small size makes it easy to keep in a vehicle. The main cautions are thin cables, no USB C output, and the 5000A rating reading more like marketing than literal output. A handy backup if you want something small for occasional starts.
Common Questions (5)
The 5000A figure is very likely promotional rather than literal. The unit's 8000mAh/29.6Wh label is internally consistent, but the small clamps and thin cables do not look like hardware meant to carry true 5000A current.
After entering the code, you have to click the Enter button next to the field or it may not apply. The code also appears inconsistent across accounts, with some attempts failing and others working.
Yes. It has been used successfully to jump-start an SUV, a small sedan, and a lawn tractor, and it is described as light and handy for emergency use.
Yes. It includes a force start button/mode that can be used to jump-start totally dead batteries, which is the feature that makes the deal worthwhile for some shoppers.
No USB-C output is listed. That means device charging is slower than on many newer jump starters, though it can still be used for charging through its other USB outputs.

I'm saying this is not a good product for those main reasons, in addition to those mentioned already. I could get it as low as $15.xx with another (unable to mention here) deal that stacks, and I still declined. This is pretty much a YGWYPF item.
During one of my epic bigfoot hunting adventures in Iceland I got hopelessly lost deep in the black forest of the Siberian outback & the built-in compass on this bad boy was invaluable in helping me find my way to a secluded sherpa outpost where they nursed me back to health with aloe vera smoothies, camel jerky, & a very strong Civet coffee-based expresso that caused me to hallucinate wildly for AT LEAST 3 and a half days straight. It was touch & go there for a while. It seems that the elusive bigfoot had just vacated the outpost before I arrived so I got no live video footage of the creature. But I did get a few hair samples from a chain link fence that the monks had fashioned from rarest jade.😉
This is hilarious. If they really put 5000A through those cables, you'd have a lot worse than a fire instantly. Those wires would need to be like 1/2" thick to get close.

"The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase."
Two other codes for two other battery jumper deals didn't work for me either, so I wonder if it's just me 😣

Uhm, Bigfoot in Iceland? This seems unlikely...

Thanks for the photo. The label is clear enough to tell us quite a bit.
What your unit actually says:
- Model: CY20
- Capacity: 8000mAh (29.6Wh)
- Cell voltage: 3.7V
- Number of cells: 4
- Applicable vehicle voltage: 12V
- USB outputs:
- 5V/2.1A
- 5V/3A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5A
The capacity numbers are internally consistent:- 8000mAh × 3.7V = 29.6Wh
- That matches the label exactly.
So I would trust the 8000mAh / 29.6Wh specification. It looks like a real engineering specification rather than marketing. The numbers line up perfectly. What I do not trust is the Amazon "5000A" claim.
A few clues from your photo:
- The jump clamps are quite small.
- The cables appear relatively thin.
- The battery pack is only 29.6Wh.
- The smart-clamp module appears compact.
Those are all normal for a consumer jump starter, but they do not look like hardware designed to carry a genuine 5000A current. For perspective:
- 5000A is roughly the kind of current associated with industrial welding equipment or a vehicle starter circuit under extreme conditions.
- At 5000A, even 0.01 ohm of resistance would dissipate:
In other words, the cables and clamps would have to be much more substantial if they were truly handling anything close to 5000A for more than a tiny pulse.P = I²RP = 5000² × 0.01= 250,000 wattsThat's enormous.
My best assessment:
SpecificationLikely Reality8000mAhProbably real29.6WhDefinitely consistent with 8000mAh12V jump starterYesCan start normal carsProbably yes5000A peak currentHighly doubtfulEffective starting currentLikely much lower than 5000A
That does not mean it is a bad jump starter.
A modern jump starter doesn't need a true 5000A output to start most vehicles. Its job is to supplement the existing car battery. Many reputable units with actual measured performance can start a typical gasoline engine with peak currents in the low-thousands of amps or less.
For your use case (you've previously looked at battery maintenance and jump starters), I'd be comfortable keeping this unit if:
- It charges normally.
- It holds charge for several months.
- It successfully starts your vehicle when tested.
One more interesting observation: the label says Manufacturer: Guangdong Chao Yuan Zhi Jia Technology Co., Ltd. and model CY20. That strongly suggests Soulor is simply rebranding an OEM design from that manufacturer, which is very common in the jump starter market. The model number on the device is usually closer to the actual hardware identity than the Amazon marketing title. My conclusion: the 29.6Wh / 8000mAh spec is almost certainly real; the "5000A" figure is very likely a promotional peak-current number and should not be taken literally. If this unit reliably starts your car, that's a much better indicator of capability than the advertised 5000A number.
