most if not all of the cheap third-party ones are wireless so you have to deal with separate charging, Bluetooth, and annoying power-saving measures

I've had the cheaper Bluetooth ones and I currently have a Magic Keyboard for my m1 air is a huge upgrade over the Bluetooth ones. That said I wouldn't pay $250 for one, I got mine used for $50 though and it's totally worth it for that. I'd probably pay $100 for one any more than that does get difficult to justify though.

*surprisingly, the Apple Magic Keyboard Folio for the iPad 10th gen does NOT have backlit keys.

That's an important difference:Apple's more expensive Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro/Air has backlit keys, but the Magic Keyboard Folio designed for the iPad 10th gen/A16 does not.
At $150 vs. $110, that makes me favor the Logitech Combo Touch even more strongly between those two premium choices.

The Magic Keyboard for my 2015 1st-gen pro is still going strong and is a pleasure to type on. I'm not the most accurate typist and have zero issues with it. Hopefully the newer ones are equally as good a durable.

Why? Well, it came with it lol. Why use it? It's hot af here in the summer so I use the iPad for media consumption and Internet stuff - it's still good for that. In the winter I use my Ideapad Gaming 3 laptop, since it keeps me warm!

I bought 3rd party one for about $80 but st least it can work as laptop without having the silly back kick stand and works well but I hate that it doesn't have escape or some other shortcuts. Maybe I just don't know them yet.

Paying 1/3 (or more, since I bought my A16 11th gen iPad for $280 before Apple jacked up the prices) the MSRP of the base A16 iPad feels wrong to me, especially when there are many cheaper alternatives available. For example, I bought this keyboard case [a.co] when it was on sale for $17.49 during Prime Day (some color variants are currently on sale for $17-22), and while it isn't as nice as more expensive options (it's heavier, but also more protective because the case holds the iPad instead of just magnetically sticking to the back) it gets the job done for a fraction of the cost. If you want a more lightweight alternative that's similar to the official Apple one but only costs $17 right now, search B0F2LY97XZ. Unless you absolutely hate Bluetooth keyboards and having to charge the keyboard separately, I see no reason to pay more.
