It is heavy though. Also I think it only has 2 OS version updates (up to Android 18) and 4 years of security patches (2030). Lenovo has been giving longer update support only on their high end tablets.
Tomsguide has it as their tablet of the year.
Lenovo is going to start making kids tablets though.
If you are paying for Amazon kids you'll lose access to a lot of apps/games on the Firetablet. The kids mode on android tablets is not bad though. It can teach them to read where it listens to how they read a book and helps w/ difficult words. It's called read along by google.
