Do not get these. They get you initially with the low upfront cost, however these cameras force you get a Blink subscription plan & the price has increased substantially. Without the subscription services these are essentially useless. Another thing they take lithium batteries only. If you put a camera in a high traffic area the batteries will need replacing every 1-2 months and lithium batteries are quite expensive.

Blink & Ring are the OGs, but they are out dated, and there are now much better options, with no subscription fee, and even included solar panels, so changing the batteries are not required.

I will say this my dad loved the Blink camera with the AI subscription but at $200/year subscription plus the cost of replacing lithium batteries.... Yeah no. There are far better options out there we now have a Eufy S340 which we purchased on sale for $90. It has a included solar panel and AI tracking with no subscription fee what so ever.

I couldn't disagree more. My experience is actually opposite of nearly every point in that post.

I have been using Blink cameras since the first edition. Blink cameras have awesome deals often enough where I've paid probably half of retail or less every time I've bought them. I got the video doorbell and 2 minis for $53, for instance.

I now have 6 Blink outdoor cameras, a doorbell cam, 2 Minis inside, and an outdoor floodlight (wired). I have never paid for the subscription, and they work just fine for me. I had to learn how to reduce the amount/duration of clips to keep battery life higher, and I get probably around 4-6 months of use from a set of lithium batteries in my high traffic areas, 1 year or more in my less trafficked areas. I recently got 24 Energizer Lithium AA batteries for $30, so $2 every six months isn't what I would call "expensive."
