Thanks for posting this OP and (does a double take) - Dr. W you're posting deals on TV's now not just computers? Man now you have two full time jobs instead of one! .. much appreciated thank you
PC Mag liked this TV a lot and they were impressed with it's performance for gaming (so say if you hook an XBox or Playstation or Switch or Steam Machine or what not up to it) but they liked it's performance in general for just watching TV shows/movies too
so never connect the tv to network or setup, select and HDMI and use chrome box, solved
I have LG and Hisense smart TVs. Both take a very long time to turn on, often appearing to go through a full reboot cycle. I updated them when I first purchased them and have kept them disconnected from the internet since.
The smart features and sluggish performance are becoming quite frustrating, especially since I do not use those features. Is there any way to speed up the boot time or disable these smart features so they function like standard TVs? Don't get me started with those smart TV remote control...
If you notice any weirdness in the picture on this one, go to settings and do a full shutdown or restart. I have a larger version of this TV and it had some weird persistent shadows until I did an actual power cycle (because of some other weirdness) and that unexpectedly corrected that. Worth trying before sending away.
