Ecobee Smart Thermostat Premium Plus Pack is a feature rich smart thermostat bundle that stands out for app control, Apple Home integration, and the ability to average temperature across the thermostat and two SmartSensors. The adjustable temperature differential down to 0.5 degrees can make rooms feel steadier than a Nest, and the included sensors are worth about $50 each on their own. Installation is easy with a C wire, but can get more involved without one. Accuracy and occupancy behavior can be finicky, so calibration and sensor setup matter.
Common Questions (5)
The bundle has dropped to $189.99 at Costco a couple of times, but $199.99 is still strong because the two SmartSensors are about $50 each when bought separately. It has not been seen at $150 for the Premium with 2 sensors.
Yes. The bundle includes the thermostat plus 2 SmartSensors, and the thermostat can average temperature across all 3 readings. It can control only one HVAC system, but it works well with multiple sensors on different floors for a single system.
Accuracy can be an issue: the main thermostat and remote sensors may read off, and the humidity sensor has been reported as being off by about ±10%. Calibration with a separate reference thermometer/hygrometer can help, but the scale may still be off by around 5 degrees in some cases.
Yes, but installation is easier with a C wire. Without one, the included Power Extender Kit may be needed, and the install can range from moderate to complex depending on how your air handler is wired.
Not always. It can keep running normally during long absences unless vacation scheduling is set manually, so it may not behave like a Nest that auto-detects away mode.
