Also, how blue is this ink color? More like black or like a really dark blue?

Answered my own questions. Band should fit newer 42mm models and the ink color is a nearly black blue. Going to try this.

The actual latching mechanism will fit and this band will work just fine on the 42mm watch. But there will be a small gap on the sides.
